How Colleges Partner With Us
Half-day admissions training workshop
Our most popular product.
A team member will travel to your campus and spend a half day with your team discussing sales and customer service techniques. Special attention is given to interacting with prospective students and their families once they are on your radar. Discussion includes getting comfortable with a value proposition, influencing decision-making impulse, tips for overcoming objections and closing the deal, and more.
Rookie counselors will learn quite a bit, but counselors who will benefit the most are likely 6 month - 4 year counselors.
Consider who you may want in the room, and if need be, who can share the cost. In the past, we've had undergrad traditional counselors in the same room as athletics, graduate, undergrad non-traditional, and admissions support staff.
Inquire for low-cost details. Depending on location, travel expenses may not be necessary. In addition, remote training is available (though not recommended) for an even lower cost.
COMING SOON: NEW HIRE BOOT CAMP
Send your new counselor(s) off to a 1-week boot camp training session so they hit the ground running. For a few hundred dollars (plus travel costs), set your new counselor(s) up for success. They'll hear best practices on territory management, office culture (general), conducting effective high school and community college visits, structuring a quality phone interview with effective questions, strategies for discovering a strong value proposition, phone skills, sales and customer service skills, and many other topics.
Recruitment and sales guide
Before the half-day training workshop, we created a new and custom recruitment and sales guide for admissions counselors. This guide does not replace your new-hire orientation, but enhances it with tools, scripts, a collection of campus-specific resources, exercises, and new sales and customer service learning resources that will improve the most veteran of counselors.
Some material is covered in both the guide and the training workshop, but the guide goes a bit more in depth. Over the course of roughly 80 pages, the guide also covers materials beyond the training workshop.
Though the guide can be a standalone product, it was designed to build on the training workshop.
I've built in a price discount if both are purchased together.
The most effective way to proceed would be to have your present day team receive the workshop, purchase the guide to go a bit deeper, and the guide will remove the necessity to purchase future half-day workshops in the event your team changes.
Content marketing workshop
When the conference is too far away or too expensive to send the team to, bring the conference on campus.
This workshop includes information from industry-leading primary sources on content marketing (high-level overview), examples of strong content marketing pieces at different stages in the funnel, print, mobile, infographics, social media (specifically Facebook), gated content, examples of centralized mobile apps, value of single-purpose sites, topic clusters, Generation Z, ratings software, A.I.-like tech, personas, micro-moments, improvements in financial aid awarding, and value against competitors.
It’s an up-to-date best practices presentation for enrollment marketers.
COMING! Virtual Admissions Sales Training
Instead of paying the per-institution cost of an on-campus training workshop, you can now provide training to individual counselors in distance-learning environment.
The need for sales training is as high as ever. Having better phone skills than your competitor might make the difference in enrolling a student or not.
This training covers all the same concepts as the training workshop on-campus, but you can pay less and provide training to fewer of your team members.
Which team members will benefit from this? Any of your team members that 1. speak with prospective students and parents and 2. provide counsel to students. That would include your recruiters plus potentially financial aid staff or admissions support staff.
YOU PROVIDE THE CONTENT
Are you a college with something specific you’d like training on, or are you a service provider looking for additional training assistance?
We are experts on training and the science of engaging different millennial personalities. Most admissions teams we’ve trained were using content provided to us (rather than created by us). Entrust us to deliver the training content that already exists and be confident it will be delivered and received well.
